Clinical Rotations USA: A Student’s Perspective

As an international medical student, I was very excited to have the opportunity to complete my clinical rotations in the United States. I had heard so many great things about the American healthcare system and I was eager to learn more about it.

However, I quickly realized that the Clinical Rotations USA here are very different from what I was used to back home. In the US, medical students are often treated like another member of the healthcare team and are expected to participate in patient care. This was a bit of a culture shock for me, but I soon got used to it and found that I really enjoyed the hands-on experience.

The biggest challenge for me was the language barrier. I had to learn medical terminology and communicate with patients and doctors in a completely different language. This was often frustrating and overwhelming, but I was lucky to have the support of my preceptors and fellow students.

Overall, I am so glad that I had the opportunity to complete my clinical rotations in the United States. I learned so much about the American healthcare system and gained valuable hands-on experience. I would highly recommend this experience to other international medical students.
