The Department of Transportation is the federal agency that regulates the safety of our nation’s transportation system. The DOT is also responsible for issuing rules and regulations for the transportation industry, including rules and regulations related to substance abuse. DOT Qualified SAP is responsible for overseeing and regulating the transportation industry’s substance abuse policies and programs.
The Substance Abuse Program is also responsible for ensuring that transportation companies provide their employees with the substance abuse treatment they need when they need it, and in a manner that is not detrimental to the transportation industry (DOT Certified SAP).
